WikiLeaks

First job today is to print your Notepad file with your HTML code and the preview page from the Internet. Staple both printouts together and submit.

WikiLeaks has been in the news in recent months. Have you ever heard the name before? Perform a search and tell me about the site. What is the purpose? Who runs the site? Why has it been in the news? What are some of the latest stories they have broken?

As you read through your classmates' posts, find something original to report about WikiLeaks.

"WikiLeaks is a non-profit media organization dedicated to bringing important news and information to the public. We provide an innovative, secure and anonymous way for independent sources around the world to leak information to our journalists. We publish material of ethical, political and historical significance while keeping the identity of our sources anonymous, thus providing a universal way for the revealing of suppressed and censored injustices."-http://213.251.145.96/

WikiLeaks is "directed" by the now convicted, Julian Assange. He has been a topic of scandal in the national media by the WikiLeaks exploitation of secret US diplomatic missions that could threaten national security as well as unearth things that could cause global turmoil. 53% of these leaks are listed as unclassified, 40% are confidential and 6% are deemed secret. Assange has been seen as a criminal while the US Department of Defense has been blamed for security lapses that led to said leak.

I have never heard about wikileaks until I read this post. Wikileaks brings information to the public about important news. Wikileaks keeps their sources anonymous because they want a wide variety of information around the world and from different ethical backgrounds. Wikileaks is a non-profit organization.

15036-The purpose of the wikileak was to tell the people what the goverment wasnt telling us. I dont know his name but he was a computer hacker that hacked into banks and other places and found top secret stuff the government did with out the people knowing about it. He then posted it on a web page where everyone could see it. It is an outbreak the government is trying to cover it up but the people want to know what is going on thats why it has been on the news.
